“When I started working with Eileen, I was very confused and in a lot of physical and emotional pain. I saw no end in sight. I thought that it would be impossible to have a full life. I had no idea what questions to ask my doctors, and what to tell them, I was in a huge fog. Eileen helped me know what questions to ask my doctors and she taught me how navigate through the medical field.
I was very comfortable working with Eileen, she was the one person during this horrible time where I felt safe, validated, and not judged, all reasons why Eileen is so incredibly good at what she does. She offers a systematic approach, uses positive psychology and holds you accountable by setting up reasonable timelines and coaching you through the deadlines. Besides structure she offers wisdom, compassion and support. Working with Eileen has been the best gift I have ever received. She had the foresight and knowledge to know what steps to take to get my health and mind back on track.”
“Early in 2008 I was in a head on collision; that event changed my life forever. I started working with Eileen in May of that year. I was living in extreme pain, both physically and mentally. I was confused by the direction my life had turned; I saw no light at the end of the tunnel. I could not imagine a fulfilling life in my future. Looking past my day to day pain seemed unbearable. I was in a fragile state of mind.
She taught me how navigate through the medical field, become an empowered patient, advocate and obtain appropriate tests, and get diagnosed. I was diagnosed with Myofascial Pain Syndrome (MPS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and anxiety. Once diagnosed, Eileen guided me in getting appropriate treatment and taught me on.”
“We considered the needs of both my clients and myself, finding where they were similar and where they differed. She suggested a list of policies for my clients and a set of rules for myself to prevent my business from taking up all of my time and energy.
While this may sound simple, it could not have happened without both Eileens’s patience and her determination. I did not accept feedback or change with ease. With each suggestion Eileen made to change my relationship to my clients I came back with five reasons the relationship could not be changed. When she suggested I set limits to what I would do and how much I could work I swore it would end up with me unemployed and without a single client. She listened to my concerns. Some she responded to immediately and others she let me think over until our next meeting. While Eileen’s organizational skills are amazing and her knowledge of business is essential to what she does, it was her patience with my reluctance to change that was essential for the transformation of my business and myself. She could have thrown up her hands and told me if I wanted to change I was going to have to do it myself, but instead she get pushing and waiting, pushing and waiting.
Slowly I came to understand that I had a right to a predictable schedule and a living wage, weekends and vacations. She showed me how to communicate with clients so that we would both see the benefit in any changes that I made. Together we worked to bring order to my business. Now I review my situation every six months or so and check in with Eileen on occasion to see how I might continue to improve my business and to be reminded that I am a professional, I do this, not only to be of service to my clients but to provide myself with a quality of life that meets my standards.”
